Willow Pod

New House Organic Farm

Willow Pod is based on a ‘back to basics’ campsite at New House Organic Farm, a 60 acre working farm on the edge of the Peak District National Park where the animals are hand reared and very friendly – in fact it’s not uncommon for one of the sheep or goats to amble into the EcoPod in which you’re staying. It’s a strangely wonderful place!

The farm is located just outside the tranquil village of Kniveton close to Dovedale.  With a network of footpaths running through the farm, You are welcome to wander around but stay out of the fields with Cows and their young young calves.

It is perfect for picnics with panoramic views of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.

Farm animals –  Happy Hereford cows, very friendly sheep, quite a few goats, two black ponies, a gaggle of geese, various types of waddling ducks and chickens that roost in the trees!

Carsington Water is 1 mile away and hosts a new and enormous play park for the kids. There is a visitors center with a free exhibition,  shops, a cafe and Ice cream parlor.  The Lake has a water sport center where you or hire a bike, go fly fishing, rent a canoe, sailing boat or wind surfer.

Ashbourne Market town

images (2)

Ashbourne is one of Derbyshire's finest old market towns, combining a medieval street pattern and historic buildings with a wealth of high quality shops. Lying in a lovely green valley on the southern edge of the Peak District, the town attracts many visitors who come to enjoy a scene which has changed little in appearance since the 18th century.

Dovedale Walk and Stepping Stones

dovedale 1

Dovedale is owned by the National Trust and is farmed with many sheep on the rocky slopes and in the woods. It is 3 miles between Thorpe and Milldale in the north. The famous part is the wooded ravine between the stepping stones,a short distance from the car park at the front of Thorpe Cloud and the cave like dove-holes.
